Garlic Pickle


An essential in every Indian household because store bought pickles are just not up to the mark and contrary to the myth, pickles are really easy to make at home

Ingredients


Mustard Oil - 150 ml

Mustard Seeds - 1 tbsp

Curry Leaves - handful

Slit Green Chillis - 6-8

Garlic Cloves - 30-40

Ginger Garlic Paste - 2 tbsp

Salt - To taste

Red Chilli Powder - 1 tbsp

Cumin Powder - 1 tbsp

Garam Masala - 1 tsp

Meat Masala - 1 tsp

Sugar - 1 tsp

White Vinegar - 20 ml

Method


1) Heat mustard oil in a pan.

2) Add mustard seeds and let them splutter.

3) Add curry leaves and green chillies to the pan and let them crisp up.

4) Add the washed garlic cloves and saute them on low flame so they become soft and lose their pungency.

5) Add ginger garlic paste and saute.

6) Add all the powdered spices and let them cook.

7) Add the vinegar and cook on low flame till the oil rises to the top.

8) Store up to one month.
