Lentil And Cheese Corn Dogs


A classic American snack made with Indian ingredients and spices that will definitely be the favourite finger food of your next party.

Ingredients


Black lentils - 1 cup

Butter - 1 knob

Garlic - 4 cloves

Onion - 1

Besan - 2 tbsp

Green chilli - 1

Potato - 1

Red chilli powder - 1 tsp

Cumin powder - 1 tsp

Garam masala - 1 tsp

Cheese slice - 3-4

Corn meal - 1/2 cup

Refined flour - 1/2 cup

Baking powder - 1 tsp

Paprika powder - 1 tsp

Oil - For frying

1) Boil the black lentils and drain all the water.

2) Blend the lentils into a coarse-textured powder/paste.

3) In a MEYER PRISM frypan, melt the butter and add in the chopped garlic, chilli and onion, and saute.

4) Add besan and roast it till nutty in colour.

5) Add the blended lentils and combine it all.

6) Chuck in all the powdered spices along with the salt.

7) Once the mixture is fully combined, shape it into a cylindrical sausage shape, like a croquette.

8) Wrap the lentil croquette with a cheese slice each and freeze it for 10 mins.

9) Make a thick batter by mixing corn meal, refined flour, baking powder, paprika and salt in water or soda.

10) Pass a skewer or satay stick through the croquettes and dip them into the batter.

11) Deep fry these corn dogs and serve them hot with a choice of dip.
